How Stress Affects Your Body
Stress is a whole-body event. In short bursts it sharpens focus, but sustained stress keeps cortisol and adrenaline elevated — tightening muscles, raising blood pressure, disturbing digestion, suppressing immunity and fragmenting sleep. Headaches, acidity, frequent colds, jaw clenching and low energy are often stress speaking through the body. The fix is rarely one big change. Micro-recoveries through the day — a short walk, slow breathing between meetings, a real lunch break, a hard stop to screens at night — lower the baseline. Persistent physical symptoms deserve a check-up: treating the stress and ruling out disease go hand in hand.
